Conversational Adult ESL (beginners)

Conversational Adult ESL (beginners) In-Person

Wednesdays at Mesa Public Library beginning July 13. Classes are held on the lower level of the library in the youth services area. Check at the youth desk for directions. The classes are free.

Intermediate/advanced class from 1 PM - 2:30 PM

Beginners class from 2:30 PM - 4 PM

Drop-ins are welcome but please consider registering so we can share information about the classes easily.

The UNM-LA Adult Learning Center and Mesa Public Library are working together to provide ESL classes in the library. Adult students will be assessed by the instructor and classes will provide education at the needed level. Classes may include board games, a book club, and other language practice activities.

What's Up Wednesday? (for kids!)

ESL learners may bring children to class, but UNM-LA instructors will not supervise children. MPL has a program for children ages 6+ on Wednesdays from 1:30 – 3:00 pm.  During the school year, MPL has an open-to-all space with board games and art supplies from 12:30 – 5 pm. In the summer months, board games and coloring are always available to anyone in the library.  Learner’s children may attend the program and use the space, but library staff are not acting in loco parentis and cannot compel children to attend the program or play in the space.  Library rules allow ages 6+ to be on their own in library spaces.
