1000 Books before Kindergarten is a national program that our library participates in. We believe in reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers. Additionally, we encourage parent or caregiver bonding through reading. Sign up at lacnm.beanstack.org or ask at any service desk for help. Readers earn milestone incentives and stickers on the journey to reading 1000 books.

Create a Beanstack account and track the books you read to your child. Then come see us in Youth Services or the White Rock service desk after 100, 200, 300, etc. books read. Save up your trips and get several stickers and prizes at once or visit us after every 100 books read. Every 100 books earns a sticker, every other hundred earns an incentive. Reading Knuffle Bunny 10 times counts as 10 books read! Tracking books is done digitally using our Beanstack tracking software. If you wish to track on paper, come see us at the youth desk at MPL (Mesa Public Library) or either service desk at WRBL (White Rock Branch Library). If you forget to track, talk to us at the desk and we can bulk add your reading to get caught up.

Sign-up for this program has no start or end date. We have a reminder on the first day of each month on our events calendar for patrons. The program is for anyone who has not yet started kindergarten.
