The Adult Learning Center (ALC) at the University of New Mexico, Los Alamos offers this English as a Second Language (ESL) class for beginners at Los Alamos Public Library.

The classes held at Mesa Public Library, with instructor Cydney, are held in The Zone on the lower level, from 1:00 to 2:00pm Mondays and Wednesdays.

The classes held at White Rock Branch Library, with instructors Jolene and Edith, are held Mondays, Tuesday, and Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 7:00pm. These classes in White Rock can also be attended online.

The Adult Learning Center provides services in a campus-based learning center designed to improve the educational level of adults, out-of-school youth, and non-English speaking persons sixteen (16) years of age and older. Eligible students are individuals seeking to prepare for life, work, or post-secondary education with skill levels below the college level and who can benefit from the instruction.

The UNM-Los Alamos Adult Learning Center provides free classes, instructional materials, tutoring, and a computer practice lab to learn English as a Second Language (ESL), prepare for a high school equivalency credential, and prepare for college and a career. Services include instruction in reading, writing, and math, all levels of ESL instruction, and an introduction to essential job skills for the workforce.
