Discover the Pueblo Food Experience with Roxanne Swentzell

Discover the Pueblo Food Experience with Roxanne Swentzell In-Person

More details coming soon.

Join the library in welcoming Roxanne Swentzell to share with us the history of foodways in our region. Swentzell, of Santa Clara Pueblo, will share with us the rich culture of growing and preparing food in our region, how it has changed over time and how it informs the greater cultures of the Pueblo peoples.

Swentzell is a gifted sculptor and artist who established her own gallery, Tower Gallery, in nearby Pojoaque, She is a force in her community that has championed a reinvigoration of the horticultural and culinary practices that have been tradition in northern New Mexico for centuries. As author of The Pueblo Food Experience, she shares with us these practices and her visit to the Los Alamos Public Library will offer us the chance to dig deeper into the importance of learning from traditions.
