Forest Bathing: an introduction by Kristine Coblentz

Forest Bathing: an introduction by Kristine Coblentz In-Person

Join us for a Forest Bathing experience: Inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, this session is an opportunity to slow down, unplug, and experience the surrounding environment through all of your senses. Also known as nature therapy, this simple guided practice has been shown to promote health and well-being, to help us manage the stresses and anxieties of the modern world, and to make meaningful connections.

Please prepare for an outdoor experience by dressing in warm layers and walking shoes. The workshop will take place in the wooded area between the Betty Ehart Senior Center and Mesa Public Library. There is an accessible walkway leading to the space, however much of the workshop will be on uneven ground away from the walkway. Please let us know of any requests for mobility accommodations when you register below.

Kristine Coblentz has extensive experience leading community health and wellness programs. She recently became certified as an Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guide with Los Alamos County Social Services Division's first cohort of trainees. This initiative is part of the County's commitment to enhancing the well-being of the community by offering innovative mental and physical health supports.
