Amazing Women of the Wild West Live at Fuller Lodge

Amazing Women of the Wild West Live at Fuller Lodge In-Person

*This program will be held in person at Fuller Lodge on Thursday, June 9 from 7 to 8:30pm. Free to attend.

Performer VannAnn Moore's musical theater shows are highly entertaining. Attendees can expect lively performances with optional singalongs and living history portrayals of three women from New Mexico’s Territorial Era: Doña Tules (Gertrudes Barcelo), Susan Shelby Magoffin, and Lydia Spencer Lane. Content is appropriate for all ages.

VannAnn Moore has performed internationally and has over 45 major roles to her credit in opera, musicals, and plays. She has been associated with the University of New Mexico, teaching theatre and music for over ten years, the New Mexico Arts Division as an Artist-in-Residence for the state, the New Mexico Endowment for the Humanities, and has performed and taught master classes in music and theatre at numerous festivals and colleges throughout the country.

More about the characters: Doña Tules opened Santa Fe and New Mexico to America; through Susan Magoffin's detailed journal we understand the beginning of New Mexico as a Territory; and through Lydia Spencer Lane we experience frontier military life and the beginning of the American Civil War out West.

This program is free to the public and is made possible by the New Mexico Humanities Council with special thanks to Friends of Los Alamos County Libraries. Do you have questions about this event? Please emai jessica.jenkins@lacnm.edu or call (505) 662-8257.
